Description

A photo of a group of people at Fort Brabant (now part of Ulukhaktok). The photo was taken at Kuyuaqria (Minto Inlet). The photo includes (back to front): Qaruna (Sarah’s father’s older sister), Inuktalik (Qaruna’s husband), C. Rowan, Qauluaq, Tiklalik, Annie Kunanna (Hiruna’s wife), Makitak (Pukutaq was adopted by her Mother Avilingaq), Pulguuq (his real Mother is Urina, Qauluaq’s nephew from his sister; adopted by Qauluaq and Tiklalik), Sarah Qunguatuk, Ammirarniq (Makitak’s daughter), Napayuk Niuyiuq (Kunik’s uncle), Hiruna, and Tapturaq (Makitak’s husband).

This photo collection was used during the interviews of the Aulavik Oral History Project to get the names of people previously not identified.
